AMAZZONIA is a concept that combines the sale of art books with other objects produced/conceived/connected in our region. It started as a survey of the vegetation of the industrial area. It is a temporary bookshop on the ground floor/warehouse of Viaindustriae, Via delle Industrie 9, Foligno (PG). It usually takes place once a year to coincide with the beginning of the Christmas break. From time to time it is also repeated in the summer.
2023: 2 December, 5.30 p.m. Viaindustriae + Radio Safari, Animal Sounds Calendar. Radio Safari is an audio-documentary project about animals and what, of animals, we hear. The calendar suggests each month, with drawings by Giulio Scalisi and words by Radio Safari, some ways of exploring the animal world and some ways of listening to the sounds this world produces.
2022: 22 December, 6 p.m. Viaindustriae + Torrerivera, Olio per ungere i libri. Limited edition of 50 250 ml bottles of oil with personalised label, perfect to accompany one of our books as a Christmas gift. Extra virgin olive oil is an organic liquid that allows itself to be dangerously absorbed by the paper of the pages that rest safely in our books; artists, publishers, printers would advise against letting it into their studios and offices. Bookbinders, graphic designers, typographers would call it the enemy of the uncoated paper. But on the occasion of Amazonia 2022, Viaindustriae has decided to welcome it and make it a protagonist, taking the risk of making it meet (metaphorically) with the pages of books to grease them well.
2021: 15 July, 6.30 pm, AMAZZONIA returns with a day of workshops, performances, book sales and listening stations. This year we are presenting a project to map the trees in the green area around Viaindustriae.
2020: Online. Viaindustriae + Pasticceria Fontana & Fontana. AMAZZONIA online: handmade panettone in combination with discounted books.
2019: 22 December, 5 p.m. Viaindustriae + Jeffrey Isaac. Jeffrey Isaac premieres 48 Reize, a line of artist's t-shirts produced by Viaindustriae. 48 Reize, a project by Jeffrey Isaac, is a set of multi-dimensional images: a series of oil paintings on rolls of canvas, a series of 8-second video animations with sound by Nyla Van Ingen, a series of t-shirts and a catalogue.
2018: 20 December, 5.30 p.m. Viaindustriae + Vivai Sara. For the first edition of AMAZZONIA, Viaindustriae selects plants from Vivai Sara that are sold in combination with books.

Richard Prince is one of the pioneers of the art of appropriation. By (re)photographing advertising images or recycling elements of American popular culture - whether westerns, comics or pulp fiction - he questions the fundamentals and construction of American mythology and the hierarchy between “high” and “low” art. His production of images also raises questions related to the authorship of the work, plagiarism and intellectual property, and the dissemination and circulation of imagery .
He is also a collector and obsessive producer of books, from War Pictures (1980) to The Entertainers: 1982–1983 (2023).

After fifty-five years, Pino Pascali returns to Foligno: no longer in the bosom of the history of Palazzo Trinci where a great illuminated exhibition ("Lo Spazio dell'Immagine" 1967, curated by Giuseppe Marchiori) offered the artist the opportunity to enclose the sea in thirty square aluminium and aniline-coloured water tanks; but within the rigorous and differently seductive geometry of CIAC, the space desired and realised by the Fondazione Carifol as part of its constant and qualified commitment to contemporary art. At Palazzo Trinci Pascali confronted the natural element (water), imagining himself reflected in a sea where one day he wished to build his house. At CIAC he reverses the perspective. It is the artificial that is his point of seduction, the standard shapes and chemical colours of surprising and non-perishable objects: the "Bachi da Setola": History, as always, returns and pushes.
